ABOUT US
LEADERSHIP
Tanya worked in the commercial cartography industry for ten years. Teaching cartographic techniques and making maps are the foundation for the passion that she has for cartography. The students in the lab, with a hunger for knowledge, and the clients, with an excitement for their research, are the truly inspiring aspects of the Cart Lab.
Tanya has served on the NACIS (North American Cartographic Information Society) board as secretary, vice president, program chair. She will be the organization's president in 2010. In addition, she has guest edited two issues of Cartographic Perspectives. She also sits on the board of the International Cartographic Association, US National Committee, as the National Coordinator of the Barbara Petchenik International Children's Map competition.
