Alumni Spotlight: Matt Forrest, B.A.'10

Matt ForrestMatt Forrest (Geography ’10) is the co-founder of a Minnesota-based company Carticulate LLC, a mapping business he started with fellow UW-Madison undergraduate alumni Kate Chanba (Journalism, 10). Matt and Kate met in Geography 575 – Interactive Webmapping, where together they created The Chernobyl Disaster Map for Friends of Chernobyl Centers, U.S. (FOCCUS), a non-profit support organization. The map won the 2010 NACIS Web Mapping Competition.

Matt’s G572 (Advanced Cartographic Design) map Re-envisioning Election Mapping took 3rd Place in the 2010 National Geographic Mapping Competition and was featured on several prominent political blogs.
