Research Areas

I came to people-environment geography from a broad interest in how articulations of environmental and social problems made by those in power (e.g. governments, funding and scientific institutions) get translated into policy and programs that impact marginalized people and their environmental relations. My Masters work examines the political nature of agricultural entrepreneurial training for refugees resettling in the US. I am interested in the transformation of agricultural and economic perceptions and practices and how diverse economies and new agricultural livelihoods are forged as people migrate to market-led regulatory environments.
