The Georgia State Flag has had 7 official versions and 1 unoffical verison. The first version was introduced by Geogrgia state senator Herman H. Perry and was adopted to memorialize Confederate Soldiers (look into more). The flag had a few different alterations happen to from 1902 to 1956, going through 3 more designs before finially reaching the only htat lasted for 45 years. This version of the flag was designed by John Sammons Bell, a World War II vetran who was an outspoken supporter of segregation.
