About

This story details the progression of rock music through time and space in America, procured in response to the Geog572 Final Lab assignment.

Created in ArcGIS Storymaps, this story features a plethora of different music-related maps, both found online and created myself.

Most people may not associate music with the study of cartography, but there is an inherent geography tied to music, as various elements and forms move across regions and come to represent different communities.

Though music may not be the most compelling topic in terms of career development, it is probably my favorite passion and is something that I hope to carry with me for my entire life. By creating this story, I hope to showcase adequate knowledge of design choice in order to construct a compelling narrative. By making this a storyboard, I also have many opportunities to showcase different mapping skills and techniques. For example, I used several different cartography and design programs, including ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Adobe Illustrator, and MapBox Studio.
