Our project has been featured in the media multiple times. First, the UW-Madison Department of Geography news letter wrote a summary of the Design Challenge we held in the UW-Madison Cartography Lab. Participants spent a day mapping hazardous waste flows, patterns, and uncertainties using a subset of the dataset. Then, the same organization acknowledged our faculty members when we formally received the grant award from the NSF. Most recently, a map relating poverty to hazardous waste shipments was featured in the
Wisconsin State Journal (pg. 14) in an article written by one of our project faculty members for a special feature section.
