Research Associate - Urban Studies; University of Oxford
Job Description & Duties:
We are seeking a Research Associate to work on a Wellcome Trust funded project on urban austerity, care, and new parenting. The project will focus on developing new interdisciplinary research at the intersection of human geography and social psychology in advancing understandings of the physical and mental well-being of new parents in the broader context of UK urban austerity measures. The project will require the use of multiple qualitative research methods including in-depth interviews, mobile ethnography, and discourse analysis.
The successful candidate must have a PhD and expertise in human geography, urban studies, social psychology or related fields. Also required is in-depth understanding of different theoretical approaches that can be used to understand and examine contemporary caring practices in the current socio-economic and political landscapes in UK urban areas. You will have excellent skills in qualitative methods and experience in organising, planning and conducting research utilising different research methods, as well as experience with non-academic stakeholder engagement.
