Senior Lecturer - Human Geography; Massey University
The School of People, Environment and Planning is looking to appoint a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer for a permanent position in Human Geography to be located on the Albany Campus in Auckland. Human Geography is a key social science programme within the School of People, Environment and Planning.
Qualifications & Responsibilities:
The appointee will possess a relevant doctorate and will have research and teaching expertise in Human Geography. The Human Geography Programme at Massey focuses on six key themes: Agrifood, Urban Environments, Geographies of consumption; Globalisation; Political economy; and Geopolitics. The appointee will be expected to reinforce or complement these areas. Initially they will be responsible for teaching the stage one course 145.111 Society, Environment and Place in semester 1 2018, and then will be responsible for other 200 and 300, and postgraduate level teaching as is appropriate.
The appointee will develop course materials and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and may be required to provide supervision of research theses. They will also be expected to contribute to the programme’s research and publication profile, to collegial relations within the programme and the School more broadly, and to promoting and growing the discipline and the School.
