Congratulations to Prof. Erika Marín-Spiotta who has been awarded a Vilas Associate Award. The Vilas Award is a campus-wide competition that recognizes new and ongoing research of the highest quality and significance.

Marín-Spiotta’s research examines how anthropogenic and climatically-driven landscape disturbance alters the accumulation and loss of biomass and biologically active elements within and across ecosystem boundaries.
