Research Areas

Soil ecology and biogeochemistry, soil organic matter chemistry, climate change and managment impacts on forest nutrient cycling and composition

Current Research

My dissertation work will examine how genetic diversity of trees and disturbance influences soil microbial community structure and function, soil organic matter, nitrogen cycling, and litter decomposition. This work is being conducted on soils collected from an experimental Aspen (populus tremuloides) forest at Arlington Agricultural Research Station in Arlington, WI.
