Sammy (they/them) joined the State Cartographer’s Office in July 2022, working on a project to advance the water resource goals of the Red Cliff Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa Tribe. They graduated from UW-Madison in May 2022 with a B.A. in Geography and Political Science. Before working at SCO, Sammy spent two years as an Information Specialist Intern with the UW-Madison General Library System and two semesters conducting research on the residential geographies of queer students at UW-Madison. In their free time, they enjoy reading, biking around Madison, and hiking around Wisconsin (or wherever they’re able to drag their friends).
