Map Chat with Annika Anderson and Randi Selvey | April 9

Our second Map Chat for this semester is almost here! On Wednesday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m. Central time, join us via Zoom or meet us in the Cartography Lab in Science Hall (room 250).

In this chat, you’ll hear from Cart Lab alumni Annika Anderson and Randi Selvey in “Mapping a Path to Inclusion: Map Accessibility Standards in Education”: they’ll talk about their work at Mapping Specialists Limited, the largest for-hire cartographic company in the United States. Annika and Randi will share about MSL, their experiences with accessibility in educational publishing, as well as approaches for collaborative map making.

About Annika

Annika is a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she earned Bachelors of Arts in Human Geography and Cartography & GIS and a Certificate in Public Policy. She has worked previously at the UW Cartography Lab. Annika’s area of expertise is within digital and interactive cartography but she also thoroughly enjoys working on a variety of print map projects! She also prioritizes making connections and friendships in the cartographic community through attending and presenting at conferences including NACIS and WLIA. In her free time she enjoys working on print and interactive maps for friends and family as a creative outlet and a way to develop new skills and workflows. Outside of cartography, Annika loves all things outdoors including cross country and alpine skiing, running, hiking, and camping.
