Join our dynamic department in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin!
Assistant Professor of Geospatial Technology and Director of the UW-Madison GIS Professional Programs
Strong candidates will have broad knowledge and technical skills in GIS&T, established and diverse professional networks, and a leadership vision for continued growth of the GIS Professional Programs. Candidate research can be from any area across GIS&T, including GIS, geocomputation, spatial analysis and modeling, cartography and geovisualization, and remote sensing. We welcome candidates who can contribute to an inclusive environment, bring new perspectives on mentoring and educating students from diverse backgrounds, and value collegiality and collaboration.
Principal Duties: Leadership duties include curriculum planning and course maintenance, strategy and budget planning, staff supervision and performance review, and program advertisement and recruitment online and at industry and academic GIS conferences and events. Faculty duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses as well as mentoring students, conducting research, and service at a level consistent with career stage and leadership activities.
