Geography senior Colin Higgins has been awarded the Mark Mensink Senior Thesis Grant by the UW-Madison Faculty Honors Committee. The Mensink Grant, in the amount of $7,500, recognizes excellence and potential in both scholarship and service. It is the largest and most prestigious student research grant on campus. Only one grant is awarded each year.

Colin’s honors thesis work is on the development of habitat credit banking in the United Kingdom and European Union. He will present his research at the Senior Honors Thesis Symposium on Saturday April 18, 2015.
