Your donation could do twice as much good!

In honor of the 75th anniversary of our mapping program in the Geography Department, we are delighted to announce a unique opportunity to support the department and our students.

We are raising funds to support our best and brightest undergraduate students in research and other professional learning experiences. Our goal is to raise $4,000 before the end of the year. To encourage additional donations, we are proud to announce that an alumnus from the class of 1974 is generously offering a matching challenge. He will match the first $2,000 in donations during this time. This alumnus is a key supporter of Geography, believing in the importance of supporting our students in and out of the classroom.

To make a gift, you can register for the Science Hall After Dark event; any contribution you make above the $30 registration fee will count toward the match. Or, you can give online by visiting www.allwaysforward.org and designating the “Geography Department” for your gift.

We hope you will join us on November 11 to learn more about the research and service in which our undergraduates are participating. Check back here, at MadGeogNews, to follow along with the exciting work of our faculty, staff, and students at. Please reach out if you would like to be more involved in the UW–Madison Geography Department, geography@geography.wisc.edu.

Our students appreciate your generosity!
