Zeb is currently the GIS Data Systems Coordinator at the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in St. Paul, where he has worked since 2011. He uses Python every day to automate data management and geoprocessing tasks. This includes data transfer across organizations and via web calls as a key contributor to the team that built the Minnesota Geospatial Commons public web portal. He also manages the upkeep and deployment of DNR’s suite of Python ArcGIS toolbox tools and develops tools for this toolbox. In addition, he has taught numerous Python workshops for the Minnesota GIS/LIS Consortium’s spring workshops and fall conference.
Zeb has a Masters in GIS from the University of Minnesota where he was president of the GIS Student Organization, and a B.A. from Stanford University where he studied economics, math, and computer science. He has taught Geog 378 since 2016 and adapted it to Python 3 in 2018.
