Our last Map Chat of the 2025 spring semester is extra special. On Wednesday, April 23 at 1:30 p.m. Central time, join us via Zoom or meet us in the Cartography Lab in Science Hall (room 250).
Anne E. Stoner, in conversation with Jaime Martindale (Map & Geospatial Data Librarian at the Robinson Map Library), will discuss her upcoming social practice curatorial project, The Disabled Wandering Atlas. Comprised of drawn and interpretive maps, field recordings and field video, the Disabled Wandering Atlas exhibits the every day experiences of disabled individuals, asking if disabled wandering exists and how it functions. This distanced social practice exhibition attempts to create an archive of both public and private wandering, with representations of disabled individuals based in the US and internationally. The show will be up from April 21st through May 2nd, 2025, with a reception on April 25th from 5:00-7:00, at the Robinson Map Library.
