Acknowledgment in Volume Five
We greatly appreciate our supporters and aim to recognize every donor in the front of our books. Sometimes friends ask how that print acknowledgment works, so we have identified our categories of giving below. Personal donations are essential. We put every gift to good use even in these late stages of preparing Volume Five (check out our “Why Give?” page).
Our team has been working on each aspect of the Volume Five manuscript, and it has been necessary to set a donor recognition cut-off date so we can prepare the front matter on schedule. We can guarantee that gifts or pledges received by at least February 28, 2025, will be recognized on the Volume Five financial support pages. We hope our friends will continue to give generously and we strive to acknowledge every gift, but changes to the support pages after that date cannot be guaranteed. Thank you.
History of Cartography Giving Categories
Group recognition is generally determined by total gifts sent during the period we focused on a specific volume. However, those who have been able to donate $5,000 or more since the Project began are acknowledged in one of the lifetime supporter categories.
Lifetime supporters are listed in all forthcoming volumes
Associates: $150,000 and above (cumulative)
Sponsors: $15,000–$149,999 (cumulative)
Founders: $5,000–$14,999 (cumulative)
Volume-specific listings
Benefactors: $1,000–$4,999
Patrons: $250–$999
Friends: $100–$249
