Acknowledgment in Volume Five
Personal donations are essential. We put every gift to good use even in these late stages of preparing Volume Five (check out our “Why Give?” page). We greatly appreciate our supporters and seek to recognize every donor on the financial support pages in the front of each of our books. We acknowledge donors by categories of giving, explained below.
We must, however, set a donor recognition cut-off date so we can prepare the financial support pages in time for Volume Five’s scheduled submission to Press. We can guarantee that gifts or pledges received by February 28, 2025, will be recognized in Volume Five. We hope our friends will continue to give generously and we strive to acknowledge every gift, but changes to the support pages after that date cannot be guaranteed. Thank you.
History of Cartography Giving Categories
We generally recognize donors according to the total of their gifts during the period in which our work focused on a specific volume. However, donors who have donated more than $5,000 since the Project began are acknowledged in one of the lifetime supporter categories.
Categories for Cumulative Lifetime Support
Associates: $150,000 and above (cumulative)
Sponsors: $15,000–$149,999 (cumulative)
Founders: $5,000–$14,999 (cumulative)
Volume-specific categories
Benefactors: $1,000–$4,999
Patrons: $250–$999
Friends: $100–$249
