Under the expert direction of Tanya Buckingham, creative director of the University of Wisconsin’s Cartography Lab, students prepare reference maps and line drawings that are published in each volume of the series. The Lab is a full service cartographic production facility housed in historic Science Hall, one floor below the History of Cartography Project’s office. The Project is grateful not only for the excellent, original line art created for the History’s volumes, but also for the generous subsidy the Lab provides.
